Buick is shaking things up next year. Two new models are coming stateside, and several others are due for a refresh. Automotive News has full details on the 2016 Buick lineup, but we’ve got the most important news for you right here.
Buick Envision Due Fall 2016
The Envision is a brand new model that made its debut in China last year. Size-wise, it slots between the Encore and the Enclave, Buick’s compact and large crossovers. The Envision brings a mid-size crossover to the showroom, rounding out the lineup and filling an important and popular gap for consumers to choose from.
At about the size of a Chevy Equinox, the Envision is the first vehicle built on GM’s global compact platform, which is meant to support cars and crossovers alike. In China, it’s powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Those are the few concrete details we have on this model right now, but if the report holds true and it comes to the US in the fall of next year, we can expect to give you more information in the next several months.
Buick Cascada Arrives First Quarter 2016
We’ve been talking about the Cascada for a while. The new Buick convertible will finally show up in the beginning of next year. If you need a quick refresher, the Cascada will appear on our shores with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It seats four and has a roof that can be lowered in 17 seconds at speeds up to 31 miles per hour.
Model Redesigns and Beyond
In addition to these new models, the Verano, LaCrosse, and Encore are all due for a facelift as part of the mid-cycle refresh, so expect the 2017 versions of those cars to sport some spiffy new looks. The AN article carries on with insight into developments beyond next year if you want to know more about the future of the tri-shield brand.
